I applied this product to the plastic door panels on my 2000 Ford Explorer. I didn't want to attach it to the doors themselves as it would cover up the studs and many tool holes making it difficult to service anything inside the door. It makes more sense to me to attach it this way as the film faces outwards and blocks incoming heat from outside the door. Be careful and wear gloves as you could cut yourself on the edges of the foil. Before installing I cleaned the plastic with rubbing alcohol and the sheets adhered slightly with a roller. There was a faint smell of asphalt a few weeks after installation, but it's gone now. It's a lot of work, but it makes your car's interior much quieter, and your doors actually look sturdier.
