Update: Changed from one star to three because the company has a separate online document that describes the system changes required to run on a Macbook. This is just the beginning, but the product still does not work with Macbook Air 2021 (Apple Silicon). Also, I was able to contact support and they helped, but ultimately I was unable to resolve the issue or predict when a solution would be available.----------------- ---- ----------- --- ---The product does not work on Macbook Air with Apple Silicon. To return. At first the software reported no connection. So I followed the instructions on Blackmagicdesign's custom board and got it working (no, thanks to the documentation). You want to change the security settings for this product in low-level boot mode. This allowed me to run the software and connect. But the video was blank. I tried connecting a VCR to HDMI and an Ultra Studio Recorder 3G with the input set to HDMI. Nothing. I called customer service and after they opened about an hour late I was able to speak to someone. They admitted not having tested the device with the new Macbook Air. So one star and back.
