This service tool differs from other tools I've used in the same style as other brands. This is most noticeable in the C-Clamp area. In terms of weight alone, if you lift it, there is significantly more mass in here. I've never broken any of these tools (which I've mostly used in rentals before) but it seems to mess up less, especially on the stop/constraint pin. The bolt must be lubricated before use for lubrication purposes and lightly oiled after use. to prevent rust, if that's important to you. My choice of lube is white lithium grease on the bolt and then spraying light oil like 3-in-1, air tool oil, marvel mystery oil etc. The reason for this is because the lube seems to provide an oil base. You get a nice smooth ride, and when you put it back in the body the lube on the strands dries up a bit. Now when you use it again, the splashes of oil will bring it back to life as before. I like it because it provides excellent bearing lubrication without oil dripping all over the case and next time you use it just a small amount of oil is enough to keep it well lubricated and ready to go. If I had to find a complaint about this, I would have to point to the blown case. The only problem is that this tool is so heavy that the body lends itself to the tool very easily. If you drop it with the tool inside I wouldn't expect the case to pop out in one piece. With normal use, mine is slightly warped on the inside in a few places and has a dent on the outside, but that doesn't affect storage or use of the tool. When using a tool, you should be aware that it is heavy, which can make it difficult to use on or off a vehicle. It is also important to select the correct adapters for both removing and installing the ball joint. I would suggest reading all the documentation from the manufacturer before using it and watching the tutorial video on YouTube if you are unsure about something for some explanation and usage examples. If used correctly, this is an amazing tool that will save you a lot of time.
