I've never tried spiralizing vegetables before, so I didn't want to invest heavily in buying a kitchen tool that might prove useless . I was amazed at how effective this simple plastic contraption is in making "fake" pasta! And it doesn't take up much kitchen drawer space, which is a plus. I usually twist zucchini into spirals and it does a great job. The top part, designed to grip and hold the veggies, is difficult to keep in place; I usually just hold the zucchini in my hand until it's very short, then use the tip for the last bite. The blades are very sharp, so don't try to twist the last pieces of vegetables with your fingers!
