I bought this tool to replace the front wheel bearing on a Toyota 4 Runner 99 2WD. First I looked for a tool with strong pins. I didn't think the roller pins would be strong enough to hold up. Cylindrical pins are a lot cheaper and I figured if they broke I could buy solid pins and install them. I've also read reviews of similar tools that don't fit very well. This tool is ideal for lock nut holes. I can see how you can bend or break the pins if you're not careful and the tool doesn't always sit flush on the nut. I used a pry bar to unscrew the nut. I've heard of people using a percussion gun, but again I was concerned that the pins might break. Just use a pry bar to loosen it, then use a punch if you want to take it all the way down. On the other hand, I was sure I had a problem with the front wheel bearing and other people who rode with me thought the same thing. After replacing the bearing, it turned out that the rear wheel bearing had collapsed. I jacked up my truck and put it on stands and then with someone else's help put it in gear and then listened for a bad bearing. Also for those of you doing this job, I used a 20 ton press to get the bearing out and it worked fine.
