I've been using badger brushes along with Shark blades on a Parker 34C safety razor since 2012. I've recently switched to Astra blades which have found to be sharper than the Shark, I've switched soaps/creams a few times and am currently using Maison Lambert (check it out, seriously). Unfortunately, I have sensitive skin, so I'm constantly struggling trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. Finally, I have three or four vintage badger hair brushes (all Art of Shaving) so I decided to try a synthetic brush just for fun. Now I like the idea of not taking from the badger population, but I really have no idea where synthetic brushes come from (like sweatshops, labor camps, etc.). Other than that, so far so good in terms of product/use. It lathers very well, better than the badger brush I used. The Maison Lambert soap I started using is very mild and the only soap I have ever used with this brush. I didn't use the same soap with my old badger brush so I'll update my review if I find the new brand doesn't match this brush.
