I use this grease to lubricate the bolts of all my pistols and the bolts of my rifles. I switched from oil to grease for the thicker film and better protection. Eventually it gets dirty and you have to take it off and reapply it. Since it's white, it's pretty obvious when I need to do that. Very slippery lubricant. Since I switched to lubrication, I rarely have a malfunction when I do this because my gun is dirty. Sometimes thousands of rounds go through it before it is cleaned. From time to time I wipe them down and wipe the bore, but I don't clean them completely until the grease turns gray.
