Review on Logitech G305 Lightspeed: The Ultimate Wireless Gaming Mouse by Gabriela Werbliska ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Matches the description completely, very satisfied.

I was really weary of the cable that always seemed to get in the way, so I decided to switch to the Zowie EC-1A as a substitute for my work, everyday use, and games (mainly Quake and CS). I was afraid that after using a large ergonomic Zowie, this one would feel very small and uncomfortable. However, although it is smaller, I am still able to use it conveniently with my paw because the shape of the mouse is very competent. Because I replaced the standard alkaline battery with a lithium battery, which is far lighter than other types of batteries, the mouse now feels like it weighs only 90 grams but weighs like a feather. The one evident drawback is that it can be discharged, but other than that, I didn't notice any delays or any other inadequacies compared to the wire. The wheel and buttons are fantastic; they even surpass Zowie. Regarding the one and only drawback that was mentioned, it would be preferable to change the power profiles by using the switch on the bottom (this is basically how Zowie's DPI switching is accomplished); doing so would eliminate the need to enter the exclusive software every time. In a nutshell, the mouse is fantastic; considering how cheap it is, it well above any and all expectations.

Pros
  • Excellent materials, good shape, fantastic sensor, clear ringing main and side buttons, delay is the same as for wired mice (that is, it doesn't exist), unexpectedly low weight, no unnecessary tinsel in the form of weights and RGB backlighting; these are just some of the highlights of this wireless mouse.
Cons
  • Only by going through the software can you shift between the HI (performance, polling rate 1000Hz) and LO (energy saving, 125Hz) profiles.
