Well, the hamster comes in, the ball rolls, then the hamster comes out again by itself. You should really watch out for the lid coming off even if it's properly attached. I couldn't understand how it happened, but it happens. Apparently the only way to get it working is to seal the lid with duct tape and then it gets messy. The first one I got from this brand had the ball almost broken out of the box at the top of the cap and I figured that was why it came loose so I bought another one and it is still a problem. Just keep an eye on it while your hamster is inside, he doesn't move too fast outside of the ball anyway ;).
