Due to a budget constraint I needed to find an aquarium that could hold my sudden Russian tortoise but was big enough and cheap enough to do so. This knockdown tank is amazing! It was easy to assemble and was stronger than I expected. I like the recreation area, a third of the aquarium is darkened, where the animal can hide from the light, heat and general madness of the household. The metal mesh is surprisingly durable and I'm very grateful because my cat doesn't steer clear of it. I can put my double reptile lamp directly on the screen. This is expanded metal, not just fragile window screen. Overall I'm very impressed to have received something of seemingly great quality for the price I paid. I'm guessing it would be a $400 or $500 aquarium if I tried to buy something like this at a pet store (I checked and they didn't even have 50 gallon terrariums).
