I used these with a tiny dab of nail glue of regular nail polish followed by a top coat. For the designs with points (stars and diamonds) Make sure you hold them down for a few seconds with the side of a tweezer or orange stick. Honestly these lay much flatter than the nail polish I had purchased that has the same kinds of pieces floating in it.The container was not damaged or open - and comes sealed in plastic. My only complaint is that I received 2 compartments of the same size hearts. But really, for $7 I can deal!
