Review on 🔌 Grizzl-E Level 2 EV Charger: High-Performance Indoor/Outdoor Car Charging Station (NEMA 14-50 Plug, 24 Feet Premium Cable), 16/24/32/40 Amp by Mood Neboet

Bad news: Mount sticks as stated in another review. Until I carefully "adjusted" it glued together after assembly. Two foot power cord. It's too short. This replaced the JuiceBox, which broke after about 5 years. So the waterproof box with the NEMA 14-50 outlet that I mounted on the outside of the wall was pretty close to where I cut the vinyl siding and made a dedicated mounting surface for the charger. But not right next to him. This vinyl siding sits on sheathing strips on a concrete block wall. Try to imagine how annoying it would be to move either of these two items. I lowered the outlet and the charger mounting pad to about shoulder height. The power cord they give you won't get anything. You want the power cord to have a drip loop. Both things are supposedly waterproof, but at the length of this cable, you'll have to put them side by side. The cord exits the bottom of the charger and the socket in the box is oriented so the cord exits the bottom as well. This cord is thick and tough. There's really no excuse that they don't give you at least a 4ft cord. Crazy. I had to travel 10 miles to get a $25 6 foot cable to make it work. And try going to a "Big Box" store or hardware store and ask for a NEMA 14-50 cable. And then the instruction warns that if you change it you will void the warranty. Well, if I don't change it, I can't use it at all. At least give us the option when ordering. I promise I would pay for a longer power cord. LED "tube" as they call it. You'll have to take this thing apart quite a bit to use all of its features, namely the various power settings available are controlled by a couple of DIP switches on the circuit board inside the device. I also had to take it apart to install the six foot cable. I've read all the numerous warnings in the manual about not breaking the "tube" that conducts light from the LED to the cap, and I've been careful. However, the LED wasn't that bright when I got the unit (even before I took it apart) and was very, very dim when I was careful. Luckily there was a tiny plastic nut on the "pipe" that I gently tightened as best I could - it felt like it was chipping or peeling all the time - and held it in place. He held the tube straight and the other end was over the LED on the board, not on the side I think. Finally, why did they have to make the case black? It's so beautiful, but I cringe to think how hot it must be in that airtight enclosure with the sun shining on it for hours in August. Good news: Despite all this, this is a good device. It's well designed (with the exceptions listed above), very well made, and has a feature that lets you set different charging currents. And all of these chargers are pretty expensive for what they are. The price is relatively good. And I like the multi-color LED status indicator. Of course I wouldn't be disappointed if they used more than one LED. I also wouldn't mind if the DIP switches to set the charge current without opening the box were made available. However, if they did, my status bar would still be pretty dark. Ouch! Wait! I would still need to install a 6 foot reach cable. I still have the opportunity to repair this LED "whistle".
