I bought this fan with 31" blades and was a little surprised when I got a 6" fan. (It wasn't clear from the description that the blade span needed to be increased by 10 inches.) That's more than some airplane propellers and more than enough to get your attention in any space smaller than a gym. I will also say that the walnut fan blades were great. I've found that the folks at Emerson put a lot of thought into making a fan that doesn't wobble. For example, when I weighed the fan blades, I found that within the accuracy of my measurement, they were the same weight - 1/8 ounce. They took no less care in writing instructions for assembling a fan that would not oscillate. I carefully read the instructions before starting and followed them as carefully as possible. There are a number of steps and a number of small details that need to be processed properly. As a result, the fan works exactly as described and is absolutely reliable even at maximum speed. There is not the slightest trace of hesitation, none at all. I don't know what the result would have been if I had been less careful, but I don't think it would have been as good. So my advice is if you don't go into detail find someone who does to put this product together.
