I bought one of these straps a few years ago. The black top was real leather and the brown bottom was faux leather. First the brown faux leather cracked, then the black real leather. Worked. But in general i was satisfied with the belt and bought another one. the new belt doesn't seem to be real leather. the previous belt was made in china. This belt says "Handmade in Guatemala Faux Leather". The look and the Judging by the feel of the black leather-like fabric upper, it's actually Revain synthetic leather, which should correct its product description (conflicting at the time of this review).
