They really help prevent calluses when using fins. They are designed for swim fins, so they are a bit loose and don't work well when used alone. So don't buy them thinking they are cheaper/better than real open water neoprene socks. Let me reiterate that they are great when used with fins when swimming. I had fin blisters. I was terrified of getting kicked because I knew the fins would cut and break my legs. These socks with fins have alleviated all of those issues and I can swim with fins with confidence.
