We did a lot of research and loved this speaker, but after weeks of frustrating connection issues we're bringing it back. The speaker has to connect to Wi-Fi before it can play music through *any* input (it doesn't just let us choose Bluetooth, Auxiliary or Optical - it has to find a wireless signal first) and the connection is very unreliable. . Sometimes it connected right away, but more often it didn't connect at all. We've read the instructions and asked the RIVA online support community for help, but to no avail. We've tried moving the speaker closer to our router, checking our router settings, resetting our router and resetting the speaker to no avail. It connected after resetting the router, but the same issues reappeared after the speaker went to sleep and we later tried to reconnect. We contacted RIVA support and they suggested buying a different router, but none of our other devices are having trouble connecting to our network (Mac, Roku, iPhone, iPad, HP laptop) so we held that not for an acceptable solution. (We have an AT&T U-Verse dual-band router, model 5268AC.) To be honest, they said they'd be happy to send us a new speaker if we couldn't fix the problem, but we just didn't want to run out of time to spend playing around with it. The speaker sounds fantastic but we bought it partly for the wifi so unfortunately it has to be returned.
