I love this lamp. I use my first as a bedside lamp. 3 brightness settings allow me to use the lowest setting so I can see where I'm stepping when the lights in the room are off. The brightest offers good spot lighting for nighttime reading. I just got a second one to add some brightness to my table. The clip has a strong grip that will not scratch the surfaces it is placed on. The neck is flexible. If unplugged, the lamp will burn longer than I ever needed. The only improvement would be a longer cord, 6ft, which would allow the lamp to be placed higher on the bookshelf and route the cord to the outlet.
