NOT worth the price!

This product has a few good points - and one really big disadvantage. The first bonus is the ability to find even 40 grit paper. Maybe things have changed since I bought this product but at the time I thought it was lucky to find this product. The abrasive on this sandpaper (40 grit) is excellent and has a good "cut" (sharp edges of the abrasive grains). I use this to sand down 100 year old plaster - lime plaster, not the joke plaster most people think of. In a way you could say I use it for grinding stone, because that's what real lime plaster becomes - limestone. In some places the original plaster's grout is so well done that the surface is like smooth glass, but this product can cut into it with little pressure. Velcro is attached) is simply insufficient. I mean it's JUST not there. After about 15 minutes of using this product, the backing wears so badly that the disc will fly off the grinder. And when that happens, does the grain stay good? Yes, it's still decent enough to sand - if you want to do it by hand! But if this is what I was looking for, why should I buy it?!?Then why only 2 stars? Why not any more? Because it is NOT "cheap". I paid €15 for a pack of 25. Count on $0.60 each. Compare that to the "cheap" brands that are $20 for $100 ($0.20 each) and you would expect this thing to do the job of at least 3 of them. But I had some cheap stuff lying around and. You know this is NOT. Is it grainy enough? Yes I think so. Is it good to grind? While it can stay attached to your grinder, yes it does. Is the quality sufficient to justify the additional costs? ABSOLUTELY NOT. This product is three times the price of others, but the performance is not as good as you would expect for this premium price. Stay away from this stuff. Buy cheap stuff instead. Sure, you'll use more discs, but you'll end up with less clogging of your grinder "hooks" (because your crappy "loop" stuff tears and sticks to it). If you do the math, you'll (like me) shake your head when you realize that the crappy sandpaper you were trying to replace with this "premium" product will actually save you more money and effort. If you are reading this "Dura-Gold". '- For the price you ask, you should give us a better "Loop" fabric. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
