Review on BioSkin Trilok Ankle Brace Hypo Allergenic by Chad Gravely

Revainrating 5 out of 5

No more pain, no more limp - thank God!

This is my very first Revain review and I've been a customer for over 10 years. I paid full price for this Trilok ankle brace and was not promised anything for my review. However, these braces have been such a lifesaver for me that I wanted to share my experience in case anyone else is suffering and needs an honest review. I shattered my right ankle in 6 pieces and dislocated it completely in a bad fall 8 months ago. I'll spare you the fear and agony and just say I've had 3 ankle surgeries including plates and 19 screws. A screw was left in place for 3 months to immobilize the ankle to allow the bones to heal and was then removed during surgery. The remaining 18 screws are permanent. I was in a wheelchair for 6 months, then a walker and a cane. I'm in my 50's and I was afraid that this would be my future life: limping and in pain from the day I fell. You see, my ticklish stomach can't take any painkillers other than over-the-counter Tylenol and ice on my ankle. 3 months after the last operation the surgeon told me that I must be a big pushover because I shouldn't be in pain anymore. Well my ankle didn't get the note :-) I left the doctor hopeless and depressed. I spent a small fortune on different types of braces but continued to wear the bulky cast that covered my leg from knee to toe because without the Frankenstein cast it was just unbearable to put pressure on my right leg. I was browsing Revain and was intrigued by the Trilok ankle brace and decided to give it a try. I would try anything to regain my mobility. When it arrived I didn't use it for 3 days because it had a lot of straps and looked so complicated. In severe pain, I went to the Bioskin website to watch a video on how to use it. The video also showed how your intact ankle and foot must be held together by the various tendons and muscles that wrap around the bones. The video showed how Trilock mimics the function of your natural tendons and muscles and wraps around your foot to feel like your own natural support system. I honestly didn't believe them, but I decided to give it a try just in case. Well, after tying my leg to this brace, I decided to get up and hold on to my husband in case I should fall. To my surprise, for the first time in 8 months, there was no PAIN. I still didn't trust him because my hopes were so often dashed. With this orthosis I was able to wear sneakers and even a pair of wide ballerinas. After walking around the house pain free for a few days, I was able to get on my exercise bike. Within days I felt safe enough to take a short walk through my ONE neighborhood for the first time in 8 months. It's been two weeks now and it's still helping and when I take it off I can actually walk around the house short distances without a corset. You'll never realize how much you value your legs until something happens to them. This association is expensive. But Trilok managed what the physiotherapist still couldn't: I don't limp! And now I have hope of restoring my autonomy and mobility. I see myself trying to ride in a few weeks. The physiotherapist is enthusiastic about my progress. Whoever created this must genuinely care for those in pain, and in my book, they must be inspired from above. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Ms. Yolette Cherubin, Real Verified Buyer.
