Review on 🌡️ KETOTEK Digital Temperature Controller: Day/Night Thermostat with Timer – Ideal for Reptile Terrariums and Greenhouses by Abby Johnson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Factories; The manual is not very good, the display is not very good.

I use this piece in "heating mode". That is, I want it to turn the power on when the temperature drops to a value and turn it off again at a higher temperature value. I did a test and it worked fine, turning on and off at the correct temperature. It's good. Less good LCD display. Difficult to read even in a well-lit room. This is most readable when your eyes are level with the plug, but since sockets are often a foot or so off the ground, this requires some pretty serious distortion. I also found it pretty easy to read if you shine a flashlight on it, so I'll use it that way. This is stupid design. The thing plugs into an outlet, so has access to 110 volts at 15 amps; So it should be able to save a few volts and a few milliamps to power an LED or two to make the display readable. Not so good leadership either. Yes, it's laced with the usual garbled Chinglish we all know and hate in Chinese sellers' product manuals. The heat setting was pretty easy to figure out, but I was glad I didn't use the timer and temperature modes as the guidance in those sections is pretty rough. And the manual also has a short "Temperature Calibration" section that I found completely illegible; I hope it doesn't matter.
