Review on TP-Link Deco Mesh WiFi System (Deco M5) – 5500 sq. ft. Whole Home Coverage, Supports 100+ Devices, WiFi Router/Extender Replacement, Antivirus, 3-pack by Matt Conner

My initial review is below but I was pleasantly shocked when one day I found this opened app and saw the ability to toggle each band on and off and other useful additions. The technician on the phone initially said it was impossible, but apparently they found a way and listened to their customers. Because of this and because they are impeccable in their work I'm moving from 1 star to 5. I just can't say enough good things about them. I've had them for a few months now and have never had a single problem. The app is great and I can quickly add my 2.4GHz IoT devices. Good product! System coverage and performance is excellent, but unless you're trying to plug a 2.4GHz device far enough away from some sort of deco AP (or router, depending on your configuration) the presence of a 5GHz signal will become a thing Prevent you from connecting. I have several different devices that only work on 2.4GHz and the only way to add them is to be far enough away from the M5 to only have a 2.4GHz radio (2.4GHz) can be connected. Ranges over 5) . If the same devices try to connect, the furthest away will be connected immediately. Only after I moved the others further away did they join. They broadcast both signals on 1 SSID so you can't choose which radio you connect to and change it in the 'cute' app they provide. I gave it 1 star instead of 5 because that's the basic thing to be able to choose which radio is on either end. They're a lot cheaper than the competition for some reason I think. I tried contacting tech support and it was a nightmare from the start. It is very disappointing that they have not addressed this and all indications are that they will not.
