Review on πŸ”§ Enhance Ceiling Fan Control: Universal Thermostatic Remote Control Conversion Kit for Fan and Light by Tammy Miller

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good controller with reliability issues.

Installed the remote after the remote on a new ceiling fan failed after about 9 months. Installed and failed after about 2 months. When I turn on the fan, you hear a slight buzz and see the blades twitch a few millimeters, then everything stops. However, I did not have time to replace it immediately and after a few weeks I noticed that the fan was working. All functions appear to be back to normal. Everything has been fine for the last 2-3 months. So minus two stars for the mess, but plus one star for the inclusion of nano-bots that heal the controller itself. I didn't use advanced features. The dimmer on my corncob LED bulbs worked but provided limited dimming. By slowly pressing the dimmer button, the brightness is reduced and when the minimum value (60%) is reached, it is immediately set back to 100%. Therefore, you have to be careful while holding the button. The controller also has a temperature setting that lets you set the temperature, and when it exceeds that threshold I assume it turns on the fan. There is also a timer option that allows you to run the fan for a specified amount of time and then turn it off. However, I did not use any of these options. Finally, and maybe important to some, I need a controller that remembers the fan/light setting. For example after I set the lighting and fan settings and then turned on the wall switch (which turns off power to the ceiling fan) when I turn off the power then the familiar setting. I don't know if they all do, but when I bought the controller it wasn't clear if others did. But at least this one made it. In summary, given the reliability of other review controllers, I would buy the cheapest controller you can find. This one was pretty cheap and had additional features, although I don't use them. But I think they are overpriced, at least the ones with simpler controls. Also, in my case, I don't know how long it will take. I hope this continues.
