We bought this little personal swamp cooler fan before we gave up and lost over $500 of what it would have cost for a real air conditioner for our Seattle, Washington apartment. Since we've had a lot of heat lately, I've been looking for something to help before the next heat wave. Pros: * Humidity is usually relatively low here in the summer, so the fan should be efficient when we need it (currently 46). % humidity here).* Very portable size.* Definitely seems to cool the air. It's not very hot today as the heatwave has already passed, but I'll update this review when it gets warmer so I can continue testing. * Provides cool mist option as well as regular fan. * 3- Tank capacity for 6 hours* The tank can hold both ice cubes and water. I've only tested with water so far, but ice cubes should also improve cooling.* Can only be used with the included USB cable or power adapter.* Has multiple lighting modes, including front lighting and pulsing color options for soothing nighttime lighting. The lighting can also be turned off if you prefer to use it without. Cons/Things to improve: * Fans are a bit noisy, especially when used at higher speeds. *No information on where to buy additional drip sponges as I expect. eventually they will go moldy. There are 3 pieces in my package, so I'm set for a while. Overall I'd say it's a pretty decent buy for the price and I'll update my review when it gets hotter outside/inside as it's only 69F outside. currently.
