I bought a sock loom at a craft store but it was returned and there were no patterns. The loom I bought is adjustable so this book looked like the perfect accessory. The guide is pretty good for those who have already learned the basic tricks. My only complaint is that it doesn't give you an easy way to determine how many pins to use. Instead, it offers a somewhat complex formula that involves measuring the circumference of your foot. I did a little research on google and found where someone said how many staples they use on their own socks and agreed. It would be nice, if they could provide a chart stating that size X women's shoes use Y needles, W size men's shoes use Z needles and so on. After all, when I go to the store to buy socks, the packaging says they fit the ABC range and I don't ask you to measure the circumference of your foot. don't wait to try them. I am currently working on the basic toe and am pleased that the instructions for the heel are very easy.
