2036 View Master Boxed Set Review

I bought this because it was quite nostalgic and brought back old childhood memories and I thought my child would love it. I was excited when it came out, but quickly lost a lot of that excitement when it became difficult to move on to the next image. Sometimes it flipped, sometimes it "stuck" and didn't work. All in all I'm rather disappointed.

We were trying to find something that started with a 'V' for my son's show and kindergarten/'school' story. We chose the Master of Viewing. I let him play with it the day we got it and it got hooked. He played with it all day and learned how to change discs. The plastic sleeve for extra discs is very convenient and easy to use for a 4 year old. Very happy with the purchase. Now I just need to find more discs at a reasonable price.

This product just didn't work - something about the design was VERY flimsy. I put the card in the viewport and was able to switch to the next frame by turning the lever down 4-5 times. Then it got stuck, I corrected the map, but it didn't help. I tried two other cards and the lever could be pressed but the image would not advance. Super disappointing. I was really looking forward to sharing this nostalgic memory with my daughter as a gift.

This one is made of much cheaper plastic than the old View Masters. In addition, the reels freeze and do not spin. After we bought it, we found it almost impossible to get additional drums at an affordable price. These things must be of gold. LOVE View Master! My grand has some things and I wanted something different. Think back to the 1960's LOL and in fact I went to their website to find the unusual 99.99% of the time! Revenge!
