, I work as a tour guide here in Las Vegas and occasionally guide groups of up to 15-30 people down Fremont Street. For those of you who haven't been, it's like Mardi Gras and Carnival, lots of music and entertainment. I usually had to shout over the noise to tell my stories and of course the shouting gets pretty tiring so as the night goes on you cut your explanations and stories shorter and shorter and do your customers a disservice like you do (wise advice) . The Aker 16W portable amp is just what I needed. Now I can talk normally all night and my group can finally hear me. It gets loud enough that you can hear me like I'm screaming, but my voice is more of a conversational tone. With a small adjustment of the volume control, I can use the amp inside the casino without disturbing others' enjoyment of the game, which is important as you do NOT want to disturb the casino in ANY WAY. - The amplifier is projected in the direction you are facing. . I can also rotate the projector behind my back to speak while leading the group. - I wear this item with the straps as a belt as the clip feels weak and can break. - The microphone is designed to drape over your ears and behind your head, not over them. I was annoyed by a previous review about the mic not fitting anyone's head but have since realized they are jerks. Trust me, this is a one-size-fits-all mic. There were no feedback issues as long as I wore it like a belt and didn't bend down to bring the mic closer to the amp. Additional amplifier included. Cable so you might be able to play ipod music and talk about music (didn't try that) - Comes with a small pouch to keep all items - Seems to hold a charge well. - The charger is included, although the battery is not easily accessible. According to the instructions, the battery lasts up to a year with constant use. I recommend going with the 16W version as it's the same size as the 14W version and you can always take advantage of the extra volume in certain situations. The Aker Portable Voice Amplifier is black, small and unobtrusive. Voice quality is good and it does a great job, especially for the price. (I wouldn't use it as a vocal amplifier for singers - it's not that good - lol). Hope this review helps!
