Keep track of your digital timers. There's nothing better than an old hourglass. This thing is beautiful and works the way a timer should work. I bought a 3 minute timer because I love soft boiled eggs and have tried both digital and rotary timers. First, digital timers work well until you need to change the battery and you can't find them, and as far as minute-by-minute timing goes, I couldn't find one that worked. . I love old hourglasses. This thing is brass (or looks like brass) and black sand and it looks and works really well. Love it.
