Very quiet. Sometimes I have to check if it still works. A skimmer that you can use or not is a good option. The only thing that frustrates me is that when you adjust the water flow, you have to turn it back to medium to close the lid again. Don't hire anything that makes me hate. I recommend this filter to everyone.
