The key case itself is great. Very durable compared to OEM. The problem is that this key is specifically for a Honda key type where the transponder is outside of the key fob module (I believe pre 2013 Hondas have this type of key) so you can take the transponder out of its compartment and move it to that core issue . The key for my 2013 Civic is identical to the one shown in the picture so it looks the same as a 2012 and 2011 Civic. The difference is that my key has the transponder welded into the circuit board in a module with buttons for keyless entry. To get it working I had to unsolder this transponder from the circuit board and extend it with 18 AWG wires to get it in the position it needed to be in this key box. In this way the car will recognize the transponder, otherwise it will be too far from the keyhole and the car will not be able to read it and therefore will not start. I think it should be in the product description because many people had the same problem. Before purchasing, check inside your Honda key to see if your module has a transponder welded on it or if it is the version that comes with a transponder outside the keyless module.
