This is a review of a cheap Podofo main unit with some nicer features like GPS and a decent amount of storage. The device appears to be responsive and fast. The screen isn't the brightest and doesn't have any obvious knobs to adjust it, but if you head into the settings (admittedly quite deep into the menus) you can tweak the brightness and contrast to be fine for everyday use driving operation. The audio out is fine for my system (I only have two channels) but I'm not sure if it will work for surround sound. Everything about this device is cheap, but not cheap. They send you the PDF manual - not a printable version. There are some Chinese characters in the manual and menu, but you can decipher the necessary bits. In fact, you don't need a manual - all the pinouts are available in the settings after turning on the device. Not all cables are well labeled (e.g. speaker cables aren't labeled), but the cables on my unit follow standard codes, so for example my sound was good when I first plugged everything in. Best of all, when I made a mistake and couldn't connect the return cable properly, their tech support spent two days emailing me and helping me troubleshoot. It was slow but I have to admire the dedication to the customer. I just installed the device so I have no idea if the screen will hold up or anything to do with durability. I also think that if you have a few hundred bucks to spare and don't want the hassle of installing it, maybe you can buy a branded one and ask the dealer to install it. However, if money is an issue then this device is an impressive deal for the money.
