Review on Lumax Fluid Pump - Gallon Capacity by Chris Norman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great pump, slow but solidly built, hose leaks a little

I used this to install a standard gallon of 90 watt oil which I drained and filled with Red Line gear oil. The pump makes the bottle very tall and on my 1997 Land Cruiser it fits front and center nicely, but on the back I had to tilt it at about a 45 degree angle to get under it and out of the neck mounted one Spout began to leak oil. top of the pump handle. A little annoying, but I can live with that. The pump is firmly screwed to the bottle and does not leak. The hose, on the other hand, has poor friction at both ends and leaks constantly. The tip has compression clamps on both sides with a stepped step design that allows it to be inserted into the filling hole and held in place. Simply squeeze the clamps to release. Make sure the clamps are horizontal on the hole, otherwise oil will spill onto the hose when full. The pump pumps about 6-7 inches of oil through the hose at a time, resulting in about 20-25 pumps per gallon of 75w90 oil. You'll be struck by how little your trapeze and shoulders use on the liana 225 times or so in the afternoon. Good product overall, attach a host with no leaks and you have a winner.
