Lumax Fluid Pump - Gallon Capacity Review

I bought this pump to refill the manual transmission oil in a 2008 Audi A4 Quattro. I knew from other reviews that Redline MT-90 bottles have a narrow spout and most pumps won't fit. This pump screws onto standard 1-gallon jugs (vinegar, windshield washer fluid, etc.) and can pump a full liter in about a dozen pumps, unlike other pumps that only use 4ml per pump (250 pumps per liter!). I have ordered 3 of these oils to replace transmission and differential oil on several vehicles. All pumps worked as advertised. 1 oz per pump, long hoses and a good "clamp" on the tip to keep the hose from falling out of the fill hole. This pump is bigger and faster than most on the market. Due to the size of the pump, most of your fluid will be "lost" in the pump and tubing, so make sure you have a few extra ounces of fluid. Your success depends entirely on the size of the bottleneck. I used this to install a standard gallon of 90 watt oil which I drained and filled with Red Line gear oil. The pump makes the bottle very tall and on my 1997 Land Cruiser it fits front and center nicely, but on the back I had to tilt it at about a 45 degree angle to get under it and out of the neck mounted one Spout began to leak oil. top of the pump handle.
