I needed a cap removal tool on the tilt/trim block on my 225hp Yamaha outboard to close the block. This remedy worked perfectly. I was able to partially do the job with a wrench with no problems. Note that the caps must be tightened to a certain value when reinstalled. In my case the torque reading was 118 ft-lbs of torque so without the right wrench it would have been very difficult to tighten the caps to spec. I always use the right tool for the job to reduce the risk of damage or injury and this wrench helped me complete the repair.
