Great tool for the job

For removing twin caps on 2004 Yamaha 90 TLRC 2-stroke cylinders. They were very strong although not corroded and required a 2 foot breaker to separate them. I placed a 1" piece of PVC over the piston and lowered the motor onto it to put some pressure on the pin wrench to keep the pins from slipping out. I could not have done the work without this article. Came with two sets of 6 pins, 4mm (my application) and 4.5mm.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Secret

Case looks good but 2 out of 4 pins broke on first use. The description on the Internet mentions a lifetime guarantee in several places, but does not indicate that it is only about the body and not the pens. When the tool arrives, a separate insert will say the pins are out of warranty, but you can buy more. It also says it should come with 6 pins per pin but I had 4 S4s and 5 S4.5s.

Cons

Very disappointed with the boat trip

A very nice tool, but ineffective. All but one of the pins have sheared off, including the spares supplied. I won't blame the tool for that as my trimmer was through and not only had three pins sheared off, but the end of the screw had snapped off. And there are no additional replacement pens available for purchase. Even if I could get replacement pens, I can't get the old ones out. You'll have to buy a different brand of tool to get the job done. Dissatisfied.

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Fits and works perfectly

I bought this to replace the piston seals on my 2003 2003 Honda BF. I was able to replace all four with the pain that came with the tool. Revain didn't sell extra 4.5mm pins so I bought 2 sets from the Marine Tech website but didn't need them. Using the right size pins and making sure they all fit snugly, then applying constant, even pressure will work just fine. I use my boat in salt water but keep it clean so I don't have to deal with corrosion.

THIS IS THE BEST HYDRAULIC TOOL ON THE MARKET PERIOD!

There's nothing I didn't like about this tool. Compared to Yamaha's OEM tool, there is no comparison. If Yamaha is reading this, they need to make a deal with Yamaha to outfit a manufacturing facility. I needed both tilt and trim cylinders for my Yamaha 07 F115 four stroke. These pin wrenches fit best. No play, no slip. Tight and correct. We congratulate this company on its success. I'm a true instrument fan, so this is a BIG DEAL for me! PLEASE KEEP WORKING!

The right tool for the right job

I didn't like the price but knew it would save me some money in the long run. I knew I had a leak on the Yamaha F115 but kept putting it off until I couldn't put it off anymore. I tried prying the covers off a year ago using a cheap wrench from freight ports and a wrench I got from an angle grinder. The pins didn't fit the holes perfectly and my work was starting to take its toll. Order this part and watch a great video on your pipe and both sides were removed with new o-rings and dust caps in…

  • GOLS certified

  • Not bad

Tool works as intended

I needed a cap removal tool on the tilt/trim block on my 225hp Yamaha outboard to close the block. This remedy worked perfectly. I was able to partially do the job with a wrench with no problems. Note that the caps must be tightened to a certain value when reinstalled. In my case the torque reading was 118 ft-lbs of torque so without the right wrench it would have been very difficult to tighten the caps to spec. I always use the right tool for the job to reduce the risk of damage or injury and…

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

the post office. The first key was slightly off center and while trying to get everything on the water, the next day I tried pushing it in and turning the trimmer with the two pins. It didn't work and I rounded one of the pin holes a bit (all three pins need to be on the ground). Given the cost of this one-off tool, I was frustrated that it wasn't working for me and called customer service. Thought I would end up returning it as I had to leave a voice message on the customer service line during
