Seems a bit overpriced to me but it ended up being a lot cheaper than paying Apple or a third party to fix my Macbook Air for me to repair . I dropped my Macbook Air in the sink in mid 2013 and it died. Apple called me for $500 to fix it, but the 2013 Macbook Air doesn't cost that much. I just wanted to get data from it, so I bought this. It took a bit of effort to figure out how to get my files off the hard drive. When I connected the drive via USB to my Windows 10 PC and my old 2012 Macbook Air, they couldn't see the drive and I couldn't get files from it. The only method that worked was that I connected the drive to my Macbook Air 2012 via USB and then held 'Option' while booting to select a different boot drive. From there I was able to see and boot from my 2013 drive. Back then it was like I was on my dead laptop mid 2013 and just erased all my files, bookmarks etc. If I hadn't had another Macbook I'm not sure what I would have done and if I would have liked this case. They also didn't give you any instructions to explain what to do, I just kind of figured it out. If your old Macbook died and you want to retrieve data from it, this is definitely worth trying.
