Lifeguard!: Hard Drive Accessories

I have an early 2015 13 inch Macbook Pro that has a defective SSD slot on the motherboard. Instead of replacing the board, I decided to take this case and run an external boot drive. It only took me a few minutes to assemble and everything was fine. Now my old Macbook looks like it's alive. It's not the best thing in the world, but I'm okay with it because it works.

Pros
  • Decent Performance
Cons
  • Quick Guide

Superb SSD Enclosure

This SSD Enclosure is a perfect match for my original 2015 MBP. Because the quality is so high I have the perfect backup device and save all my original files from my laptop before upgrading to a 1TB SSD. It was so easy to use that I didn't need to call on tech support, but I thought it would be great given the care and effort that went into the design and quality of the case. I will look for other products from this company and I am sure they will be great.

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

So easy to use! in Computers and Accessories

Having dead an early 2105 MacBook Air, I salvaged the hard drive in hopes that one day I could extract data from it. After digging through a lot of conflicting information and various issues with this year's trip, I finally stumbled across this article and crossed my fingers and hoped it worked. It was so easy to use! I plugged in my drive, unscrewed the lid, plugged it in and voila! Everything was there. :). I'm not tech savvy so I was sure it wouldn't work. I can only recommend it now!

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Reliability

MacBook Hard Drive Access Solution Required

Now that many of us are working from home, accidents happen! For me, I had a glass of water on my desktop and it spilled onto my MacBook Pro. I couldn't take it apart and dry it until it was completely dead. I wanted to restore the disk and its contents and this allowed me to do so. Now I can boot from the internal drive of my MacBook Air or my "MacBook" using it as an external drive. Very easy to use, very durable and compact.

Pros
  • Good Build
Cons
  • Some Errors

Works with MacBook Pro SSD Early 2015

MacBook Pro 13 inch Early 2015 Hard Drive Upgrade. This enclosure was used to hold the Apple SSD I removed and transfer data to the new HDD after installing OS X. Works like a champ. No problem. The body is strong and smooth. Two cons: 1. The front panel is a bit cumbersome. It would be nice if it were attached to the circuit board and pulled out as a unit instead of screwed in. 2. not a fan of SDD support if a hard drive is installed. He could have been better supported. It's solid, but I'd…

Pros
  • Easy to Use
Cons
  • Senior

Item arrived quickly and was easy to assemble (three screws and a small Phillips screwdriver included). I love that it comes with USB-A to USB-C and USB-C to USB-C cables. It took me less than 5 minutes to insert the SSD into the case and tighten the screws. When I first tested it, I had to restart my computer for it to show up in Finder, but that's no big deal. It gets a little warm, but that's to be expected. It's thin, compact, and will breathe new life into an old SSD that's been sitting…

Pros
  • This is awesome
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Cheaper than fixing a broken Macbook

Seems a bit overpriced to me but it ended up being a lot cheaper than paying Apple or a third party to fix my Macbook Air for me to repair . I dropped my Macbook Air in the sink in mid 2013 and it died. Apple called me for $500 to fix it, but the 2013 Macbook Air doesn't cost that much. I just wanted to get data from it, so I bought this. It took a bit of effort to figure out how to get my files off the hard drive. When I connected the drive via USB to my Windows 10 PC and my old 2012 Macbook…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Is there anything I can add
