I have compared many fluids for my 2000 F350 diesel. I chose Mobil 1 for a number of reasons, one of which is that it is highly regarded for its use of high quality base oil, reduced heat and increased power. When it comes to 7.3 diesel engines, there are plenty of crazies doing tons of research into the fluids they use, and almost all of them have put Mobil 1 alongside racing oils like Redline and Royal Purple. The fluid cost locally is $10 per liter which would cost me $160 to flush my transmission and flush the hydraulic brake system. These boxes got them delivered to my home at a discount, and after work I had a few extra liters in case I needed to refill or spill next week. in my hydro brake system which had a lot of steering problems and weak brakes. This is an ATF rated system that is usually forgotten. As for the gearbox, I was very apprehensive about leaving an OEM rated fluid in it, which should be synthetic, and with the right additives for the gearbox, these gearboxes really take a beating. Diesel has so much power I can't give it a go wanted to give. an excuse to damage it due to overheating or bad fluid. Overall, price aside, I will be using Mobil 1 in my Ford for now.
