Warm and durable socks. Thick and comfortable, so make sure your boots/shoes have enough room to move. Size 1-3 for toddlers was very inconsistent. I was concerned that the socks would be too big for my 18 month old who wears size 5 (toddler) shoes. After a lot of washing and drying, some of the socks were still too big (I just pulled them up to my knees and they were ok), while others fit well. So impermanence. In terms of wear, I took 4 pairs on the trip and she wore them on a heavy rotation. Each of them has been washed and worn 4-5 times over long, stressful days. They're still in great shape, although you can see the difference between Mint (Blue + Burgundy and Red + Navy). Note that a heavily worn pair (purple) is still the same size as the large, unworn pair.
