Prime-Line S 4140 Mailbox Lock works as advertised. Inserted immediately without any problems. All my negative comments are related to MY mailbox and not due to the mailbox lock. Let's go deeper with that. So, like I said, installation is pretty easy. I used a wrench to pull the locking latch out and used the wrench handle to insert a new clip (because I was too lazy to pick up a hammer). This lock opens counterclockwise but my old one opens clockwise. I just have to get used to it. I also had to remove and twist the lever to get the lock/unlock in the correct position. Although there were several hands, none of them matched. I ended up adding a couple of small .25" felt washers to hold the mailbox door the right distance in the closed position so the latch lever rotates perfectly into place and I don't have to wiggle the door to unlock it with the Align mailbox slot for lock. . When I look at the other locks on the mailboxes next to mine, I notice that all the other locks have a keyhole. This lock has none. While a keyhole would be nice, our mailboxes are closed, so it's probably not raining, so it's probably not a problem for me. I hope no bug thinks the keyhole is a nice house. Now we'll see how well it holds up over time to see if it was a good buy or not.
