Charge only AA or AAA at a time

Love the simplicity of this charger. I was looking for something that wouldn't charge too quickly, wouldn't overcharge my batteries, and was small and compact. Pros: - Easy to use - Plugs into any USB port - Capable of charging 1 to 4 batteries via independent charging ports. . Great for devices that use 1 or 3 batteries - Slowly charges batteries (which is a plus for me as fast charging can decrease battery life) - Doesn't overcharge batteries. I ran several tests with different charged AA batteries. One was fairly fresh and only took 10 minutes to charge before the charger indicated it was fully charged. Others that were not fully charged continued to be charged. Cons: - No indicator to show batteries' charge level or voltage (although a solid light will illuminate when fully charged) - Don't charge AA and AAA batteries at the same time. THIS WILL DESTROY YOUR BATTERIES! I used the DROK USB 2.0 DMM, a multifunctional electrical tester, to confirm slow charging of the batteries, but I noticed an odd pattern when both AA and AAA batteries were being charged at the same time. The amps will oscillate to a normal charge and then drop to 0 amps every 3-6 seconds. Not suitable for continuous charging. As long as the AA OR AAA batteries were only used at the same time, everything worked fine. All in all, this is a good portable charger. I would still buy this charger again even though I know I can't charge AA and AAA at the same time. This is a great inexpensive replacement/travel charger.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Big and bulky
