Review on πŸ”§ FEL-PRO OS 34308 R Oil Pan Gasket Set: High-quality, Leak-proof Solution for Optimal Engine Performance by Shawn Jimenez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great oil pan gasket for Jeep 4.0L engine!

Got a 4.0 liter jeep under the hood? This is the best oil pan gasket you can get for it. Very well done. Fair price. (Not a bargain, but with proper installation it will last for many years.) Worth every penny. Follow the instructions, watch the video on YouTube. Replace the rear main gasket while you have the oil pan removed as you will have to pull out the entire exhaust system to remove the pan. You really have to do the RMS at the same time because you have to do a lot of work to get the pan off the block. Remember that a couple of front bolts go into the lower timing chain cover, which is aluminum, so those bolts can easily strip the threads in the holes, ruining the part and costing you a pretty penny. (I can't remember exactly what it is or if it's a lid or other part, but the front holes are drilled in whatever aluminum part it is. These holes need to be done very carefully. Trust me on this one.) If you do this, you should also clean the back of the cylinder block as much as possible. The transmission does NOT need to be removed from the 4.0L to make sump and RMS. The exhaust just has to come out of the manifold. (The manifold can stay.) Once the back of the block is as clean as possible, you can look for leaks. Since the rearmost bolt on the valve cover tends to leak and the oil appears to be from RMS, it is recommended that the valve cover gasket be replaced at this time as well. I used excellent Fel-Pro parts for all of this. Excellent stuff. Fits perfectly. solidly made. Outstanding reputation.
