I just installed Gigabit Fiber and wanted something better than a cheap Cat 5 cable I had laying around to connect my computer to my router. This one was highly rated and looked reliable. When the technician finished the installation, I connected my desktop to the router with a Cat 5 cable and ran a speed test using the dslreports speed test. I have 938 megabits and a download speed of 946. I ran the test three more times and got almost the same result, only changed by 1 MB each time. Then I connected this cable and got 10GB download speed! Not much on a gigabit connection, but the DSL I paid for before I had fiber was 18Mbps and I got an average of 12-15Mbps, so the 10Mbps improvement I got from this cable offers is almost the same as with my old DSL.
