It was defective, but in a single specimen. Most of their gear was excellent.
I like a lot of Neewer products but I think this one just broke - a squeak followed by silence. I sent it back. Don't worry most Neewer products have been superb it was just a bad egg they accepted and refunded immediately. I gave it a 3 because it sucks but all the other things I bought were great and I'm still using them years later...
