A couple of times it seemed like he was missing a few teeth and didn't hold on.
I got the starter at the end of the year when the engine was spinning. A couple of times it looked like a few teeth were missing and not properly attached. I have an extended warranty so if there are still problems in the spring I will come back to get a working unit. If it works properly, it starts fine.
