Gravity, while dependable, is NOT always your friend.

You know that loose skin at your elbows? You know, that wad of flesh you can squeeze as hard as you want but it doesn't hurt? Turns out, the skin over your knuckles works just like that! How do I know, you ask? I know, because 10 minutes after this ladder arrived, i had the knuckle skin of my right hand trapped between the collapsed 2nd and 3rd rung. With the weight of all the rungs above that pinning me to the ladder. My wife still laughs about me calling her over to help release me from my predicament.Don't get me wrong. This ladder is great. Very sturdy. I used it this weekend all around a 12.5' tall class A rv. Used short pool noodle lengths to cover the rails where it contacted the RV roof radius areas. The extend & xlimb allowed me to bypass the lousy built-in ladder on the back of the rv. Though heavy, it's small enough to fit in the rv for travel.A termite inspector on a home visit recently commented he has had the same ladder for years and it's still going strong. He suggested always making sure each level "clicks" into place, as well as ensuring the ladder is at a mild angle so the feet don't slide. In closing: respect the ladder, and the weight of those rungs as it collapses one rung at a time. It is 100% controllable, but if your attention wanders while collapsing the ladder, you might find yourself in a sudden surprise pinch/pinned situation like me!Hope this helps someone decide!

Pros
  • Everything I wanted and more
Cons
  • The ladder may not fit in smaller storage spaces due to its size
