The router and satellite both have Ethernet WAN and LAN ports, so I wanted to use Ethernet to connect them (known as Ethernet backhaul) . Before I used the transport network, the signal was barely strong enough for two grid points to communicate with each other, but there weren't any real problems. However, once I set up an ethernet backhaul (to overcome the weak signal between them), I started having problems: the internet connection randomly dropped from the main router (everything was fine for a couple of hours and then dropped); I've verified that the problem isn't with the internet connection itself. I have bought this product twice and both times I had the same problem. On my first purchase I spent 3 hours with tech support before they advised I probably have a bad router. When I received the replacement product I had very similar issues and decided to return it (again). This product's WiFi signal is VERY strong - 100-200 Mbps throughput through multiple walls and a metal door. I wasn't overly impressed with how quickly it switched me from one node to another (30-40 seconds). I've seen reviewers bemoan the fact that the management software (through the phone app) isn't very comprehensive. I agree, but the fact of the matter is that you can still connect to the router with a web browser (http://192.168.1.1/) and there's a pretty decent toolbar you can use to manage the router. Overall I think the product is probably fine for those who want to use it without Ethernet backhaul, but it was pretty awful trying to use this feature.
