There is nothing wrong with a gas cap. The problem is that it's missing a key element. A cable attached to the fuel cap is connected to the fuel cap flap. To make this work, there is a small round piece at the end of the tether that fits inside the door. This piece is held in place by a tiny piece of plastic that fits inside the door. Without them, you cannot connect the cable to the door. The replacement cover does not come with this tiny vital part. This is a small piece of plastic that literally has to be broken in order to remove the old cable. This tiny cheap plastic part doesn't come with a replacement cap - why? It's probably worth 5 cents. Anyway, I'm sending the gas cap back because of this stupid oversight.
