The ultimate wireless condenser system with great sound and flexibility.

This is a great little wireless condenser system for saxophones and other wind instruments, but it also works great in my home recording studio for plugging in a mic, amplifying and recording other gear - mandolins, kalimba, Cajon (aka slapbox) and for capturing string sounds when using two mics on my hollowbody electric guitar. The transmitter and receiver are easy to pair, and the receiver also has multiple multi-channel capabilities. The owner's manual might have some explanations about this, but I set it up for recording in my studio and got it working simply by turning on the modules. I can't confirm the gradient of the frequency response as no test run/example chart was included, but it's fairly flat, crystal clear at high frequencies, with a strong proximity effect at low frequencies. The diaphragm of a condenser capsule is very sensitive to blasting sounds, but I've had excellent results with tenor sax bells by moving the head of the capsule closer to the edge of the bell. The 1/4" jack adapter (included) worked well with my audio interface, although the microphone picked up some ambient noise and I had to use noise reduction in the signal chain to record. It wasn't really a surprise, and it's not a critic. This is common with condenser microphones. I initially had a bit of trouble attaching the mic to the adapter clip, so it's worth noting that it takes an extra "click" to fully connect the pieces. I used a mic to amplify my kalimba by running it through a Fender GTX50 with some reverb and digital delay and it worked great. The product feels solid and durable, especially the microphone's curved vinyl gooseneck. It stays in place after the right audio setup. The detachable microphone clip can be adjusted in four positions, which is also convenient, ie. It can be positioned "up, down, left, right" to adjust the proximity and angle. It took about 1.5 hours to fully charge the transmitter and receiver, and after a few hours of use I saw only 50 percent battery discharge. The included USB mini charging cable is a double Y connection, so both modules can be charged from the same USB socket. There is a battery indicator on the transmitter/microphone module, but there is only a small blue indicator on the receiver. The components of the kit are nicely wrapped in soft foam for safekeeping. All in all this is a great sounding mic with flexibility for a variety of uses and aside from the explainable manual I'm happy with the quality of the whole package.
