This was used at grandparents house during a midweek visit. Adherence: I lost it first and was able to quickly pull it out again (the paint didn't peel off the door) and stick it back on. It was easy to remove for the first few minutes after sticking, but after a few hours/day it quickly became sticky. I used them to keep my older child from opening the bathroom door (I held him on the outside of the bathroom door). ) to prevent children from getting in (babies/toddlers are very heavy and can drown in the toilet - true story). I was able to lock it from the outside when I slept because I knew no one could fall down the stairs if I opened the door. Children cannot lock it from the outside. but. One morning when I was cleaning my room and my husband was taking the kids, he automatically locked the lock and I was stuck. Big house so no one can hear my knocking. Thankfully I remembered being able to use my phone and was saved, but it was a bit stressful. So if you have older kids who you might accidentally lock up, this might not be an option. Otherwise no complaints and he did a great job.
