I had to buy several of these in a row as they don't do well when damp or wet and that was my fault. The kittens loved her. So I was worried about spending my money on it. I shouldn't have worried. I put it next to her food bowl. One kitten eats, the other either sharpens its claws or just sits on it and waits for its turn at the food bowl. These kittens are outside sharpening their claws outside, but when they arrive and usually in the morning after waking up (they sleep inside) they sharpen their claws vigorously, then eat quickly and run outside to play. my kittens. And with minimal post-sharpening mess produced by previous scrapers, I like this one with almost no cardboard "junk" after use.
